info

neotericz's music is made using video game consoles, 8-bit computers and toys as well as lovely home keyboards like casio mt-40, mt-65, mt-70, and the charming analogic mt-400v.

neotericz is an 8-bit music project from Buenos Aires, Argentina, leaded by Ignat and inspired by electronic-mechanical-dance music styles like retro techno, new wave, acid house, new beat, industrial / ebm, experimental music, spacedisco and hiphouse.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ignat started his passion for electronic music in 1989 attracted by New Beat (techno style from Belgium). He took part in many projects along the years: mutus liber, finsternis, factor cero. In 1999/2000 hooked by the music of Welle Erdball and Zombie Nation he became interested in video game aesthetics. gradually he went more and more into chip music. Neotericz was grown inside an internet-linked global scene knonwn as chiptune scene, lo-bit or 8-bit (music) culture. he recently remixed Kraftwerk, Receptors , Coleco Music and Elektrolas. Early years: He wrote his first (only rhythmic) sequences in a commodore 64 and a really vintage PC using sampled 8-bit waveforms. In 1993 he founded with singer Ruben Darre Mutus Liber one of the pioneer electronic music bands in the city. Within that project they explored new combinations of Industrial Music, ebm and new wave with the help of samplers and synthesizers. After recording 2 albums the project loose activity in 1997. Ignacio moved throgh many musical projects starving for a new sound. Between 1999 and 2001, inspired by bands like Welle:Erdball and Console (14 zero zero :) he starts making music with a Gameboy , Gameboy Cam and nanoloop. While he was also part of Factor Cero (an Industrial Music band). he introduced Game Boy music and Sidstation sounds for the first time in the Buenos Aires electronic music scene. Between 2001 and 2003 Neotericz release (online and then on a limited number of CD-Rs the tracks of "Great Fun", it was the first Game Boy music record of all South and Central America. In July 2005 Ignat and Roxana Rox (with the support of Jose Torres of 8-Bit Collective) launched Gainlad a Netlabel (yeah this one :) created for the Gameboy and Lo-Bit worldwide scene.

In 2006-2009 he keeps on playing live and developing new sounds in the studio with the use of retro Gaming Consoles, Home keyboards including synth capabilities & analogic filters, also integrating some retro hardware synthesizers from the 80s and 90s.
